Premier League Betting Tips – Week 4
Hello, and welcome to the time-strapped edition of my Premier League Betting Tips! I’m in a bit of a rush this week, so this will be a shorter column than usual.
Don’t worry though, I still spent the same amount of time on the actual picks… there’s just a lot less guff.

These are our week 4 Premier League fixtures:
This is actually a pretty enticing fixture list.
Arsenal vs Spurs is obviously the headliner, and – if it’s anything like last season’s clash at the Emirates, should be an absolute cracker. West Ham vs Norwich looks to be the wildest game of the bunch though… there’s no upper limit to conceivable goals in that game.
Fortunately we also have Everton vs Wolves, to balance out all that excitement. Phew!

Best Bets
In my eyes, these are the safest picks of the bunch. This week’s picks are slightly bigger odds than I’d normally have in this section, but hey, you’ve got to live a little.
—
West Ham vs Norwich, Over 2.5 Goals
1/2
—
If you want a pick that’s a little safer, the Both Teams to Score is 4/9. I think the Over 2.5 offers better value, though, and hardly seems risky.
This should be an absolute goalfest. As mentioned in my Week 3 Roundup piece, there have already been 14 total goals in Norwich’s three games so far. West Ham have been no slouches, with 11 in theirs. The Hammers have been in good form, and should win the game, but Norwich simply never stop attacking.
It’s a shame this game isn’t on TV, because it’s probably the most exciting match of the weekend. As it is, let’s just bet on it for now and wait for Match of the Day.

Arsenal to Win or Draw vs Spurs
2/5
—
The weekend’s marquee matchup could well prove to be a dud. Not for Arsenal fans, because I’m pretty sure they’ll win, but for the thrill-seeking neutral.
As an Arsenal fan this could obviously come back to bite me in a big way… but Spurs really seem to be there for the taking. They struggled against Villa, scraped a draw against City, lost at home to Newcastle, the dressing room is a mess, and bizarre rumours are now flying around that Poch is about to quit (which he strongly denied).
Arsenal just had a beatdown of their own at Anfield, but I wouldn’t read much into that. I expect them to look much more like the team who comfortably won their opening two games.
For the record, if you want bigger odds, you can get Arsenal on a Draw No Bet for 7/10.
Tasty Tips
These are solid picks as well… just not quite as safe as my Best Bets. They’re still worthy of a nice stake, though.

Arsenal to Score Over 1.5 Goals vs Spurs
10/11
—
This really was a barmy game last year. Arsenal went 1-0 up, Spurs came back to head into half-time winning 2-1, only for Arsenal to pummel them in the second half, eventually winning 4-2. All of that might lead you to consider the Over 2.5 at 4/7… but I’m feeling frisky this week, and I prefer the better odds here.
Spurs are yet to keep a clean sheet this year, despite playing both Aston Villa and Newcastle at home. Are they really going to be capable of withstanding one of the best forward lines in the league?
Again, I see Arsenal winning here… and it’s pretty hard to only see them scoring one goal en route.

Newcastle Draw No Bet vs Watford
17/20
—
Watford had an exciting 2018/19, but this is shaping up to be a season from hell. An uninspiring summer has been followed by three losses in three games. They’ve hardly played the league’s titans either, losing to the underpowered Everton, plus West Ham and Brighton at home.
I don’t particularly like Newcastle, in any way, shape or form. They’ll surely be riding high after beating Spurs away, though. Also, to put it simply, when two pretty poor teams are playing each other… you’ll usually be okay just taking the home team! All in all, I like the odds on the Draw No Bet here.
(Draw No Bet = You win if your team wins – e.g. Newcastle. If it’s a draw, you get your stake back.)
Flyers
These are the riskiest bets of the bunch (multiples notwithstanding). They’re fun enough, but don’t stick a lot down on them.
—
Aubameyang to Score Anytime vs Spurs
Evens
—
Arsenal shouldn’t have too much trouble scoring on Sunday, and Auba’s the main man. He registered in each of the first two games, and scored against Spurs at the Emirates last season. He also has big amends to make after missing a penalty in the away fixture last year (yes, I’m still angry about that).
—
Haller to Score Anytime vs Norwich
10/11
—
Haller looked an extremely exciting player in his full debut last weekend.
As noted, this game should be an absolute goalfest. I think West Ham will come out on top, though, hence why I’m taking Haller over the Pukki Party.
